Audi: Managing Variant Diversity with Process Reliable Simulation

Due to the steadily growing diversity of ECU variants and the addition of complex functionality, extensive virtual testing of functions and properties must be conducted in addition to in-car testing.  This is required to guarantee product quality, safety and reliability under all possible conditions.

TESIS DYNAware and Audi have developed a standardized process that provides cost efficient validation of ECUs for a diverse range of potential vehicle configurations using simulation.  Audi production variants can be assembled from a library of validated model components and then simulated with a high degree of accuracy as complete virtual vehicles.  These vehicle models are used for ESP testing and are provided to all other departments involved with the development and testing of ECU functions.
